Clean Slate

A new year is always thought to be a clean slate, which is why I suppose new year's resolutions are so popular. To me, nothing says a clean slate more than freshly fallen snow, before critters leave footprints in it, or it melts into soggy mush. I took this photograph from my deck after this year's first snow storm, and the shadows formed by the railing slats always leave an interesting pattern in the snow. It's truly a fresh start, and a great way to start 2014. -Cort

About This Project

How do two photographers, with unique backgrounds and skills, interpret and execute the same assignment? Now is your chance to find out!

Every week for one year, we will take turns coming up with a theme for that week's photography. At the end of the week, we will post our best images, and you will get to see how how our approaches, and our final images, differ from each other.

We look forward to challenging each other creatively, and, we hope, get a little out of our comfort zone. We think this will only make us better photographers, and better observers of the world around us. We can't wait to share this project with you over the following year.
